ELIGIBILITY

Students must be either in their junior or senior year at Central Magnet to apply for Science National Honor Society.

​

You must have an overall 3.5 GPA and a cumulative science 3.75 GPA.

​

At least one Advanced Honors course in the science classes must be taken prior to the eleventh grade year, as well as having enrolled in at least one Advanced Placement or Dual Enrollment science credit during or before senior year.

​

In order to receive your cord at graduation, you must remain in good standing in both the school and in the chapter, such as upholding GPA requirements, paying dues, attending and participating in meetings and events, etc.

​

"Science National Honor Society (SNHS) is an honor society for the recognition and promotion of outstanding work in the sciences among students in grades 11-12. The purpose of SNHS is to cultivate a new group of young thinkers who will be the future of industry, research, and scientific exploration for America. SNHS will also recognize and promote outstanding work in the sciences among high school students and members are eligible for various scholarship opportunities. SNHS members will attend guest lectures as well as participate in a service project."
